On Wednesday September 26th at 7:00 pm, the Village of Homer will hold a special meeting to consider Sunrise Coal’s request for more than half a million gallons of water per day – that’s more than four times the Village’s current use.

The proposed sale of water to the coal mine may threaten the availability of clean drinking water, the quality of life and economic vitality of our rural farming communities, as well as the health of the Salt Fork River.

Please attend this meeting to show the Village Board you support protecting these local resources for future generations.

What: Special meeting of the Homer Village Board to consider the sale of water to Sunrise Coal’s proposed Bulldog Mine.

Where: Homer Village Hall, 500 E 2nd St., Homer, IL

When: Wednesday, September 26th at 7:00pm

***If you have not already, please consider adding your voice to our petition calling on local leaders to protect local communities and resources from coal pollution.
