Will Homer sell water to proposed coal mine?
On Wednesday September 26th at 7:00 pm, the Village of Homer will hold a special meeting to consider Sunrise Coal’s request for more than half a million gallons of water per day – that’s more than four times the Village’s current use.
The proposed sale of water to the coal mine may threaten the availability of clean drinking water, the quality of life and economic vitality of our rural farming communities, as well as the health of the Salt Fork River.
Please attend this meeting to show the Village Board you support protecting these local resources for future generations.
